Our Coffee Roots

Coffee plantations has been in our bloodline for past five generations, dating to the 1850s. Mr. Hussain Ali ventured into coffee plantation business in the year 1851 in the district of Chikmagalur, the birthplace of coffee in India. Since then the baton has been passed over generations to maintain the family's coffee plantation heritage. Mr. Habibulla, the son of Mr. Ali Hussain was first to follow the footsteps and became a prominent coffee planter of his time. Not only did Mr. Habibulla cultivate thousands of acres of coffee plantations, he also gave back to the community through numerous philanthropic initiatives including donating lands for public betterment. The famous District Field in the heart of Chikmagalur and the Veterinary Hospital of Joldal village was graciously donated by Mr. Habibulla. The plantation baton was then picked up by his son Mr. H.A. Asghar where he made strides in agriculture to the point that he became a role model for fellow coffee planters and his plantation practice became a benchmark for other planters to follow. Presently, Mr. Habibulla's son Mr. Khyser Asghar along with his family are ensuring that the tradition and the honor of coffee plantation along with the spirit of giving-back is maintained while the plantation baton is passed on to the next generation.
